Let's face it, becoming an adult is hard. Navigating awkward social situations, trying to find the right job and the right relationship, scraping up enough money to afford to pay for student loans and food...these are familiar young adult struggles, but some millennials have found that laughing about it makes it way easier to handle.

Samantha Jayne created illustrated four-line poems about her own "adulting" experiences and shared them online. "I started it as a way to connect with other people in their 20s about how they were feeling," Jayne says, "You go on Instagram and you see all those shiny happy people having fun, and then you go get drinks with them and realize there' such a big disconnect betwen what they'e putting out there and what they're feeling. I like to find little truths and make jokes." (to Yasmeen Gharnit for Nylon.com, "This Instagram-Turned-Book Captures The 20-Something Struggle," March 30,2016) With over 113K followers on Instagram, it seems that her funny-because-it's-true approach resonates with a lot of people—millennials and more. The Quarter Life Poetry 2018 Wall Calendar features two of Jayne's poems each month. The colorful, graphic artwork makes a fun, stylish statement on the wall of an apartment, dorm room, or workspace, and the clever writing reminds you that you are not alone, but part of a community.
